New fire discovered in Blackrock District

JACKSON, Wyo. — Fire season is still holding onto the last warm, dry days of fall.

A new half-acre fire was reported by hunters in the Blackrock Ranger District Wednesday afternoon. The McMichael fire is burning north of Green Mountain off the South Fork Spread Creek near Moran.

Firefighters are on scene. The forecast calls for precipitation all week starting tomorrow, which will likely help suppression efforts if it isn’t already out by then.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
