JACKSON, Wyo. — Get ready for sun salutations under the summer mountain sunshine.

Jackson’s yoga community can trade the studio for open-air practice at three different locations throughout the summer months. For the fifth summer, the Jackson Hole Land Trust will offer classes at the Greenspace on the Block. The National Museum of Wildlife Art will also bring back its Yoga on the Trail, and Teton Village’s Alive @ 5 events will include a free weekly session on the Village Commons.

Buckrail compiled a roundup of the free outdoor yoga offerings in the valley, so all that’s left to do is mark the calendar and let go of stress under a blue sky.

Yoga on the Block
Unwind with the Jackson Hole Land Trust at three weekly offerings on the Greenspace behind Healthy Being Cafe. Classes began this week. Returning instructors Erwin Velasquez and Jes Neuhaus will each lead one of the classes, which will run through August, and Isabel Harris will lead the third. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats, though some are typically available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Mondays: Spanish/English with Erwin Velasquez from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: Hatha with Jes Neuhaus from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Thursdays: Vinyasa with Isabel Harris from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Mojo Mondays
Dani Perry, an instructor with Inversion Yoga, will lead an all-levels flow in Teton Village on Monday afternoons. As part of the Alive@5 series, the free class will take place at the amphitheater on the Village Commons from 6 to 7 p.m. Mats will be provided, and yogis can arrive at 5 p.m. to participate in a self-guided meditation and warmup. Sessions will run from June 29 to Aug. 31.

Yoga on the Trail
The National Museum of Wildlife Art will continue its summer tradition of free yoga on the Sculpture Trail overlooking the National Elk Refuge. The classes will take place on Thursdays from July 2 to Aug. 27. All levels are welcome at the sessions, which will be held at the south end of the trail from 9 to 10 a.m. Bring a mat and a water bottle, and soak up the sun and the view.

“Join us in connecting with two art forms — visual art inspired by artists over the centuries, and the art of yoga, ensuring healthy mind, body, and spirit,” reads the museum’s event description.
