JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The bear clan that caused a brief closure to a section of Moose-Wilson Road for a few days has moved on after snacking on roadside berries.
Park authorities announced August 9, after spotting three grizzlies at about 8pm, that the northern section of the Moose-Wilson Road, between the Murie Ranch Junction and the Death Canyon Junction would be closed temporarily to all visitors including motorists, cyclists, and hikers.
The entire Moose-Wilson Road is now open as the grizzly bears have moved on, for now. The photo in this story is from Sunday as the bears were getting their fill of berries.
The narrow road with dense vegetation does not allow for a safe distance between people and the bears. Always be aware of your surroundings and Be Bear Aware!
