JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Ahead of the planned closure of Moose-Wilson road tonight for grading, officials at Grand Teton NP have announced another bear closure of the popular sight-seeing road.

The northern section of the Moose-Wilson Road, between the Murie Ranch Junction and the Death Canyon Junction, is temporarily closed to all visitors including motorists, cyclists, and hikers. The Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve and Death Canyon Trailhead can be accessed from the south.

Park rangers will monitor the situation and will reopen the road when conditions allow.

The previously scheduled road grading operation will take place tonight. The unpaved section of road will be closed beginning at 8pm and will reopen by 6am tomorrow. Any visitors caught between the closures will be able to exit the area via the unpaved section.
