Moose finish regular season with a pair against Vermont this weekend

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Jackson Hole Moose close out their regular season with a weekend pair against the Vermont Flex tonight and tomorrow.

At 21-5, the Moose are enjoying one of their most successful seasons ever. Last season, the Moose finished 20-8 but lost to the Sun Valley Suns in the playoffs. Jackson finished as champions of the Black Diamond Hockey League in the 2016-17 campaign with a regular season record of 23-5 that year.

The Moose will dress the usual lineup tonight with one exception. Fans will be treated to a new face for this weekend only. Ryan Glantz will skate for the hometown team. His father is a world-renowned power skating instructor who has trained dozens of NHL stars, helping them improve their skating. Glantz will not be eligible, however for post season play next weekend.

As far as who won’t be on the ice, defenseman Brad Improta looks to be done for the season after appearing in just 9 games this year. Forward Drew Akins is out for this weekend and is questionable for the playoffs with an upper body injury. Akins still sits third in scoring for the Moose despite having missed half the team’s games this season.

Vermont usually brings a talented squad. In fact, the Moose have split with the Flex for the past 4 seasons dating back to 2014-15, when Jackson won both games that year.

Vermont vs. Jackson Hole, 7pm doors/music with Hot Pass. Puck drops at 7:30pm sharp Friday and Saturday.
