JACKSON, Wyo. — Biologists with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will be putting GPS collars on moose in the Wilson area next week. Wildlife Biologists use the collars to better understand the movement of moose in the critical habitat zone of the Wilson/Westbank area.

In addition to getting new collars, animals will also be sampled for disease and ticks to help gauge the overall health of the Jackson moose herd.

Residents in the area are being asked to help biologists locate adult cow moose for collaring and sampling. Neighborhoods of interest include Skyline, Bar Y, Wes Gros Ventre Butte, Indian Springs, Indian Trails, Saddle Butte, Teton Pines, River Hollow, and Boyle’s Hill.

Residents who have eyes on moose or know where moose are hanging-out are being asked to email info@jhwildlife.com., Monday through Friday, this week Jan. 25 through Jan. 29.
