JACKSON, Wyo. — The top forward line for the Moose was too much for San Francisco to handle last weekend. Drew Akins, AJ Sanders, and Jason Reese exploded for all the scoring the Moose would need en route to lopsided victories—11-6 and 8-4.
Jackson Hole swamped the DraftKings Friday after a slow start. Elevation took its toll on the visitors as the Moose lit the lamp 4 times in the 2nd period, and struck 5 more times in the 3rd.
Akins finished Friday with the hattrick and a 6-point night (3G, 3A). Reese (1G, 5A) and Sanders (2G, 2A) also had big nights.
Saturday’s game bogged down in penalties as San Francisco got lazy and began clutching, grabbing, and hooking to slow down the Moose attack. More than 50 minutes in penalties were whistled including a game ejection for the DraftKings’ Stephen Miller.
Akins (4G, 1A), Reese (0G, 5A), and Sanders (1G, 4A) again led the way on the scoring sheet for Jackson Hole.
The Moose improve to 18-6 on the season with a weekend off this weekend before hosting Vermont in March to close out the home schedule.
