Missing person near the river. Boaters asked to look out.

JACKSON, WY — UPDATE 4 PM: Search and Rescue has called their crew off the water for the day. They’re meeting at their bunker to debrief and figure out next steps. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.

The Teton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Averin Scott, a 21-year-old Native American male. He was last seen Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m. in the area of S Highway 89, just north of Horse Creek (by the KOA campsite) near the river. Averin was last seen wearing a gray jacket and black pants. He is 5’7″, approx 150-160 lbs, long black hair. Search and Rescue has been paged to help find him.
