JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Wyoming Department of Education has recognized Jackson Hole Middle School math teacher John Hoogestraat as a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching program, a national honor.
Superintendent Gillian Chapman, Ed.D. stated “Teton County School District #1 is very proud to have a finalist in our district. John represents the best of the best at JHMS, in our district and in our state.”
As a state-level finalist Mr. Hoogestraat will be honored at the Math and Science Conference in Casper in October. If selected as a national honoree, Mr. Hoogestraat will receive a $10,000 cash prize and a trip to the Washington, D.C., and the White House.
