GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — Heads up, park visitors. Menor’s Ferry Road in Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) is closed this week as part of the summer construction slate.
GTNP shared that the closure will allow crews to transport topsoil from the Mormon Row Historic District Renewal project, an endeavor to expand pedestrian and cyclist access and improve accessibility in a popular park destination. Changes will include a redesigned parking area and pathways, plus updated interpretive elements.
“You can still explore the eastern side of the former ferry route from Dornan’s, where you’ll find interpretive signs, historic vehicles, and scenic views of the Snake River,” GTNP posted to social media on Monday. “… Thank you for your patience as we continue caring for these special places.”
It’s a busy construction season in the park; work on Moose-Wilson Road continues, Taggart Lake Trail is getting revamped, and the Death Canyon Trailhead is closed for a makeover. See the GTNP roads website for updates.
