JACKSON, WY — The 10th annual Pica’s Margarita Cup, brought to you by the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club, came to an end Monday night, so it’s time to meet your Marg Cup winners.

Consistency was the name of the game this season, and it was enough to carry the Buckrail Newsies, sponsored by Buckrail (yes, hello, it’s us), into the championship spot with a 10-point lead. Great job Newsies, we’re mighty proud!

Team World Domination, who had been ranked first for most of the season, finished second overall. In third, The Nomads picked up their pace and consistently had four men in the top ten each week.

Monday night’s race results looked a little different than the overall season. Team Pica’s Tequila Mockingbird, sponsored by Pica’s, smoked the field on Monday night with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place spots for men AGAIN for the second week in a row. Buckrail Newsies once again landed in 2nd place for the evening showing strength in consistency. In 3rd place, we had The Nomads, sponsored by Nomad Sports, who held 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th for men last night.

For Men, JHSC’s FIS coach Seppi Stiegler took the win over his Pica’s Tequila Mockingbird teammates and his athletes Henry Hakoshima (2nd place) and Holden Parazette (3rd place). Later in the evening, Seppi finally got the chance to dunk Holden in the outdoor dunk tank.

Keely Kelleher from Buckrail Newsies once again smoked the women’s field while finely dressed in a team blazer. Annie Rendall from World Domination closely followed behind to take 2nd place for women once again. And in third, Buckrail Newsies’ Ashley Babcock (fun fact: recently also placed third in JHMR’s Kings & Queens of Corbet’s). Way to go ladies!

Other honorable mentions include the Pica’s Tequila Mockingbird team who missed the first race of the season due to competitions but threatened the field by the season’s end. Farmer Payne Architects who always showed up in style throughout the season, and Teton Erection, a new team to the league who always showed up with high spirits. Also, shoutout to Cafe Genevieve, who placed fourth at last night’s race.

Congratulations to skiers, the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club, and Pica’s for another wildly successful Marg Cup. Stay salty, you marg-drinkin’ race pirates.

Reminder that the 44th Annual Karen Oatey Pole Pedal Paddle is this Saturday March 23.

See you there!
