DRIGGS, Idaho — There’s no time like the present when it comes to learning more about wildfire and smoke preparedness.

Teton Valley will host a Wildfire Preparedness Day event on Saturday, May 2, at Driggs City Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can learn about creating defensible space around the home and can engage with wildfire mitigation specialists ahead of summer.

Smokey Bear will also be on the scene to share campfire safety tips and pose for photos. Event organizers say there will also be free burgers, the chance to see fire trucks up close, and information about how masticators grind, chip and shred.
