JACKSON, Wyo. – Newcomer Max Moran won a seat on Lower Valley Energy’s (LVE) Board of Directors on June 29, beating out incumbent Scott Anderson to represent District 6.
Moran is a sustainability and energy engineer at Beyond Efficiency. He advocates for green building and sustainable design. Moran’s eco-conscious platform is in step with recent developments in Wyoming’s drive toward clean energy options. His term will last for three years.
Anderson had served on LVE’s Board of Directors since October 2017. Anderson manages KMTN, KSGT, KZJH and KJAX along with other radio stations in Wyoming. He also served on the Town Council.
“Anderson was a voice of reason who brought decades of business experience to the Board,” LVE said in a statement. “Anderson’s dedication to Lower Valley Energy and its members is greatly appreciated.”
Also on the ballot was Victoria Lee, an occupational therapist with Teton County School District. Moran came out on top with 953 votes, followed by Anderson with 900 and Lee with 439.
Districts 1 and 7 also held elections that night, with incumbents Dan Dockstader and Ray Elser retaining their respective seats.
According to LVE, District 6 comprises the western portion of the Town of Jackson with Cache Street defining the eastern boundary. The southern boundary is WY22 with the Snake River being the western border. Zenith Drive serves as the northern boundary and includes the Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club.
LVE is a local energy cooperative in northwest Wyoming and southeast Idaho. The co-op serves electricity and natural gas to Jackson’s surrounding communities.
