JACKSON, Wyo. — Author Craig Johnson, behind the bestselling Walt Longmire book series, will speak at a free, ticketed event this month at the Virginian Lodge presented by the Teton County Library.
Sheriff Longmire presides over the fictional town of Durant, loosely based on Buffalo, Wyoming. The 22nd book in the series is set for release later this year. The mysteries inspired the contemporary Western TV series “Longmire,” which ran for six seasons in the 2010s.
“Craig is widely read by our library patrons, and is known for providing an engaging commentary in personal appearances,” Library Adult Program Coordinator Leah Shlachter said in the event announcement. “We’re looking forward to hearing his insights on writing and life in the shadow of such a famous character.”
