JACKSON, Wyo. — Kids are officially taking the reigns, deciding the next specialty flavor in the Cream + Sugar Scoop Shop. 

Launched this week, the Cream + Sugar Elementary School Flavor Contest invites kindergarten classes from nearby elementary schools to submit their creative choices for the next specialty ice cream flavor to be featured in the Cream + Sugar Scoop Shop on Town Square. Each month, a different elementary school will take the spotlight, submitting one flavor to represent each class. The whimsical flavors will then go head to head, as the general public votes on which of the flavors they’d like to see in the Scoop Shop. 

Voting will take place on the Cream + Sugar Instagram account and each month’s winning flavor will be featured as a special limited-time offering at the Scoop Shop, allowing guests to indulge in the delightful creations dreamed up by the next generation of flavor innovators.

Munger Mountain Elementary School kicks off the contest, with voting taking place now until Friday. Vote for your favorite out of their dreamy creations:

  • “Chocolate Rainbow” – swirls of raspberry, orange, lemon, lime, blueberry and grape
  • “Wings” – rainbow ice cream with decorative wings
  • “Blue Lake” – blueberry ice cream with chocolate chips
  • “Rocky Mountain” – cookie dough with chocolate chips

Stay tuned to the Cream + Sugar Instagram account as the winning flavor is announced on Monday, Feb. 26. The winning creation will go into production and be available at the Scoop Shop for the month of March.

After Munger Mountain, Colter Elementary School’s creations will be next (voting taking place in March, winning flavor launching April 1), followed by Jackson Elementary School (voting taking place in April, winning flavor launching May 1).

In addition to calling the shots on the next Scoop Shop flavor, as part of the initiative, participating kindergarten classrooms will get to experience how ice cream is made firsthand, as they tour the production facility on Gregory Lane and taste the fruits of their labor.
