JACKSON HOLE, WYO – A total of 15 applicants have filed for the town’s three available Bar & Grill liquor licenses. The licenses are allocated to municipalities based on a population formula. Changes to state statute took effect July 1 that allow Jackson to issue three additional such licenses.
Applicants desiring a Bar & Grill license are Big Hole BBQ, Café Genevieve, Hand Fire Pizza, HATCH Taqueria & Tequilas, Hole Bowl, JH Playhouse & Saddle Rock Family Saloon, Lotus Organic Restaurant, Moe’s Original BBQ, Nikai Sushi, Orsetto Italian Bar & Eatery, Pinky G’s Pizzeria, Roadhouse Brewing Co. Pub & Eatery, Teton Tiger, Thai Me Up, and The White Buffalo Club.
Some of the establishments hoping for a Bar & Grill liquor license already have a restaurant liquor license. The restaurant license is easier to get but more restrictive. Drinks cannot be mixed or prepared in front of customers, for instance and can only be ordered and served with food. A Bar & Grill license is sometimes called the “Applebees” license in the way it allows for a bar/lounge seating area with drinks prepared and served there in addition to dining seating.
The town council will hear presentations on Tuesday, August 15, at 3pm in the Council Chambers. The meeting is open to the public.
