JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Library invites bibliophiles and foodies of all ages to sharpen your knives and wits to make an edible creation for the second Edible Book Festival on Saturday, April 29.

The festival returns for the first time since 2019.

Edible books can look like a book in form and shape, be inspired by a book or author, can be a pun of a book title, can refer to a book character, reproduce a book cover or just have something to do with books in general.

Memorable past entries include a Harry Potter-inspired cake, a pun of the book “Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder” and a large cake modeled after the “Titanic” submerged in a bowl of blue Jell-o.

Entries are commonly made from cake, bread, crackers, Jell-o, fruit, vegetables and candy, or anything that doesn’t require consistent refrigeration.

“There are two rules,” says Library Adult Services Manager Angela Jordan. “Your entry must be edible and it must somehow relate to a book.”

The Festival will be 12 to 3 p.m. on April 29. The schedule includes:

  • 12 to 1:45 p.m. – Participants drop off edible entries in the Library Gallery
  • 1:45 to 2 p.m. – Judging of entries
  • 2 to 3 p.m. –Public viewing/voting, awards and eating of entries
  • 3 p.m. – Please take what’s left of your entry with you at the end of the party

Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice, Funniest/Punniest and Best Book to Belly Adaptation.
