JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Library is looking to hire a local artist to create a graphic design that will be the centerpiece of an upcoming creative campaign with the theme “The Library is calling, and I must go.”

According to a press release, the Library will accept submissions from artists living and working in the Teton County area, which includes surrounding commuter communities and the Wind River Reservation.

The Library’s most recent marketing campaign by artist Walter Gerald of Boise, Idaho, interpreted variations of the theme “Came for the Mountain Life, Stayed for the Library.”

Gerald’s art spawned a series of eight whimsical stickers that have been gracing bumpers, water bottles, laptops, Thule racks and coffee mugs for several years. The art also appeared on t-shirts, trucker hats, onesies and Noso patches, and was featured in the Library’s Old Bill’s Fun Run campaigns.

Local artists can submit a one-page PDF with three to four examples of artwork from their existing portfolio to communications@tclib.org by 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

Artists will not be asked to interpret the new motto unless they are selected.
