JACKSON, Wyo. — Ready to sparkle and shine to help brighten futures for local youth? Teton Youth and Family Services is delighted to be the beneficiary of the first annual SHINE ON rooftop soiree on May 19, hosted at The Cloudveil.
This community event is an opportunity to gather in recognition of Mental Health Awareness month and respond to the growing mental health crisis in the region.
Over the past few years, Teton Youth and Family Services has seen a 75 percent increase in need for forensic interviews, a 46 percent increase in youth residential care and a 61 percent increase in families receiving therapeutic and respite services. From 2017 to 2021, the organization saw a 185 percent increase in demand for safe nights for actively suicidal youth.
These shocking numbers reveal that further community discussion is needed to address the rising health concerns, as well as increased support for crucial programming such as Teton Youth and Family Services.
“This past year, over 800 children and family members passed through our doors and returned to their families and schools as better students, family members and citizens in their communities,” says Jim Hesser, Teton Youth and Family Services board president. “From my perspective, that’s the very definition of a brighter future.”
Come celebrate the hard-working, understanding, persistent care and support found at Teton Youth and Family Services, and take part in the community mental health discussion.
It will be a night to remember, with music by the talented Sister Karee, dancing in a sparkling sea of guests and great food.
A healthy, thriving community means building better futures for local youth. Let’s come together, and see how we can help them to shine their brightest.
