Kings and queens of Corbet’s send it tomorrow
TETON VILLAGE, WY— The time has come for the king and queen to take their thrones. But first, they have to compete for them. Kings and Queens of Corbet’s is officially on for tomorrow morning.
The weather’s right, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has made the call: the 25 word-class freeride skiers and snowboarders will send Corbet’s tomorrow to compete for the crown at Kings and Queens of Corbet’s.
It’s the first time a freeride event has ever been held in the famous couloir. Hosted like a surf event, Kings and Queens of Corbet’s is sure to electrify the skiing and snowboard community. The invitational event has filled up with the world’s top freeriders. “We’re excited about the caliber of athlete we have competing,” said JHMR Events and Partnership Manager Jess McMillian. “From Jackson locals like Forrest Jillson, Cam Fitzpatrick, Mark Carter to accomplished athletes such as Hana Beaman and Sander Hadley, we’re sure to see some innovative and exciting lines.”
JHMR dedicated a five-day window to the event to allow optimal conditions. Tomorrow, they’ve decided, will provide such conditions.
The competition is expected to start at 10 am. Viewers can watch the event below the Couloir, in Tensleep bowl. Reminder to spectators: there is no beginner or intermediate terrain from the spectator venue to the base of the mountain. Kings and Queens of Corbet’s is supported by GoPro, Smartwool and Red Bull, bringing together some of the world’s best action sports networks, products and athletes. Freeskier is hosting the official Kings and Queens after party Saturday, February 3rd at the Mangy Moose, where the winners of the competition will be announced at 9:15 pm.
