JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Police Department (JPD) is on the way to receiving four new Ford hybrid SUVs.

On Tuesday, The Town Council approved the bid and awarded the contract to Ken Garff Ford of Cheyenne.

The four new vehicles will be used for patrol and total $181,176 or $45,294 each. According to the bid proposal, the vehicles will be received by JPD in 90-180 days, as of Aug. 11.

According to the town’s staff report, $259,6000 was written into the FY23 budget for four new hybrid patrol vehicles. The remaining budget amount will be used to pay for parts and labor for each car to ready them for police service.

Additionally, the police department opted to not trade in any older vehicles because they are currently fully staffed. The older cars will be used by the new Police Department staff members.
