JACKSON, Wyo. – Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club will hold its annual Ski and Gear Swap Oct. 22-24, with gear drop-offs Thursday and Friday and public shopping Saturday at Heritage Arena. The community event offers new and used alpine, Nordic, snowboard, free-ski, and backcountry gear while supporting JHSC student-athletes.
Sellers are encouraged to preregister gear online to streamline drop-off. Instructions, accepted-item guidelines, handling fees, and event details are available at: jhskiclub.org/programs/annual-ski-gear-swap.
“Few events feel more like the start of winter in Jackson than the Ski and Gear Swap,” said Ali Sehnert, Executive Director of Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club. “It gives people an affordable way to get ready for the season, helps good gear stay in use, and supports the Club and our student-athletes. We love seeing the whole community come through the doors each year.”
Gear drop-off is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at JHSC offices in the Snow King Center, 100 E. Snow King Ave., and noon to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Heritage Arena, 305 W. Snow King Ave. Donations will be accepted Friday. Sellers should review the website for requirements; used helmets and avalanche transceivers cannot be sold.
Shopping begins Saturday, Oct. 24, at Heritage Arena. The first 48 people through the door will receive a JHSC mug. Early-bird admission begins at 7 a.m. for $20, followed by admission at 8:30 a.m. for $10 and general admission at 9:30 a.m. for $1. Discounts apply for JHSC Ski Club Card and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort pass holders; children 12 and younger accompanied by a parent or guardian enter free beginning at 8:30 a.m. The sale ends at 12:30 p.m.
JHSC retains a 30% commission on items sold. Unsold items can be picked up from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Arena. Items not collected by 4 p.m. will be donated.
