TETON VILLAGE, WY— Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open for the summer season Saturday, May 19, which is good news for those still clinging to winter and those who can’t wait for summer.
The resort recorded a record number of summer skiers last year following the huge winter, and conditions on top of the tram will be snowy for the foreseeable future—but remember, skiing is not allowed inside the JHMR boundary. It is allowed “out of bounds” on areas like Cody Peak, Powder 8 face, etc.
But for summer enthusiasts, lower-elevation hiking trails are drying out quickly and worth the walk, JHMR reports. The Lower Faces Loop and Hoback Trail (not to the top ), Saratoga, and Valley Trails are dry.
Anyone who purchased a 2018/19 season pass during the Spring Pass Sale rides for free all summer as part of their summer ridership benefits, and winter employees and valley residents ride for free until June 9.
As for amenities, all JHMR retail locations and the General Store will be open, and Corbet’s Cabin will be serving waffles until 4:30 p.m – a perfect summertime shred après treat. And parking is free!
