JACKSON, Wyo. — On Tuesday, Dec. 17, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) announced that the Aerial Tram and new Sublette lift will open this week following significant snowfall and extensive preparations on Rendezvous Mountain.
According to a JHMR press release, a winter storm this week dumped more than 36 inches of snow to bring the season total to 113 inches at the summit. JHMR said its mountain operations teams have been performing avalanche mitigation and setup to ensure a safe experience for all skiers and riders.
JHMR will celebrate the launch of the new high-speed Sublette lift with a Grand Opening Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 20, starting at 10 a.m. It will include remarks from JHMR CEO Mary Kate Buckley and a blessing of the lift by Rev. Ben Pascal of the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole. The celebration will include a live DJ, food and drink specials at the Bear Flats Snack Shack from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Aerial Tram, also known as “Big Red,” will also make its seasonal debut this week, although JHMR has not yet announced the exact date.
Currently, JHMR has seven lifts open: Teewinot, Après Vous, Sweetwater Gondola, Teton, Bridger Gondola, Marmot and Thunder.
