JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort annoucned today that it will close the Aerial Tram tomorrow, presumably for the season, due to concerns about coronavirus.
“We felt it was the safest way to move forward with the season,” said JHMR Marketing Director Anna Cole.
In addition, Sweetwater Gondola and Bridger Gondola will load at “light capacity.” JHMR will load about four guests per cabin, Cole said, and guests can request an individual gondola car for just your party.
JHMR announced this morning it would limit the amount of guests allowed on both gondolas and the tram. The system worked well enough, Cole said, but closing the tram felt like the safest option according to conversations with the Teton County Health Department.
“We hope to operate as long as we feel it’s safe,” Cole said. The resort is working closely with Teton County Emergency Management, preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
JHMR will offer discounted rates for the remainder of the season.
