JACKSON, Wyo. — On Sunday, July 7, at 5:04 a.m., multiple fire and emergency
medical services (EMS) from Jackson Hole Fire/EMS (JHF/EMS), and law enforcement units from the Teton County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a structure fire in the area of East Horse Creek Road in the Hoback region.
According to JHF/EMS, the initial 911 caller reported a fire in the residence’s kitchen. JHF/EMS Engine 31, responding from Station 3 in Hoback, arrived at 5:19 a.m. to find a single-story structure with heavy smoke coming from the kitchen windows. The Engine 31 crew quickly initiated fire suppression efforts to stop the fire’s progression.
Additional engines, water tenders and ambulances arrived on scene from JHF/EMS Station 1 in Jackson, Station 6 in Wilson (Moose-Wilson Road) and Station 7 in Adams Canyon. Crews worked to further suppress the fire and were successful in containing the fire to a small area in the kitchen, JHF/EMS said in a statement. All JHF/EMS firefighters were released from the scene by 6:35 a.m.
There were no injuries to members of the public or emergency responders. Fire Marshal Raymond Lane worked to investigate the fire’s area of origin and gathered information for the investigation report, which will be released upon completion.
