JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, Jan. 13, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS was called to be part of a Wyoming strike team heading to southern California to help fight the number of fires that have been raging there since last week.
While the order for the strike team was ultimately canceled in favor of waiting to see what happens over the next couple days, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Assistant Chief of Operations Brian Coe tells Buckrail that they “remain available and committed if the need arises.”
According to Coe, for the original strike team on Jan. 13 Jackson Hole Fire/EMS had six individuals ready to go and one of the team’s type 3 engines committed. Coe says that number could look different depending on the day, but resources will remain responsive if another call for help comes through.
