JACKSON, Wyo. – Award winning, nationally acclaimed authors will gather in Jackson Hole for the Third Annual Book Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26.
While the event is free for everyone, registration is strongly recommended.
Dozens of nationally acclaimed authors arrive in Jackson Hole this week for a full day of ideas, conversation, and civic discourse, beginning at 8:45 a.m. at Trailborn Jackson Hole, 400 E Snow King Ave. The festival offers everyone across the valley and beyond the chance to join the conversation.
This year, Sharon Felzer, festival founder and president, says the team expects at least 500 people to attend the gathering, with standing-room-only crowds, to hear from some of the country’s most prominent thinkers and to share their own thoughts. “Authors and attendees were thrilled by how spirited and deep the panel discussions were last year. We know this momentum will continue with this year’s stellar lineup of authors.”
Outstanding authors include Craig Johnson, the Longmire series author, with his latest, The Brothers McKay; wolf expert Rick McIntyre; Pulitzer Prize finalist Alexandra Fuller; Nina McConigley, author of How to Commit a Post-Colonial Murder; David Sanger, New York Times national security correspondent and Pulitzer Prize winner, author of New Cold Wars; and Beverly Gage, historian and author of This Land is Your Land, to name just a few.
Authors, David Sanger, Beverly Gage, and Alexandra Fuller, along with prominent moderators from across the state and nation – such as author and historian Samuel Western, journalist Ruth Marcus, President and CEO of the Grand Teton National Park Foundation Leslie Mattson, and Financial Times reporter Ryan McMorrow – will be feted at a fundraising cocktail event Friday, Sept. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is open to donors who contribute $2,500+ at the Bibliophile level.
This year’s programming – starting at 9 a.m. features sessions on the American West, America’s 250th, China, a world at risk, the dynamics of belonging, author James Baldwin, uncertainty, spellbinding stories, and the natural world, to name a few.
