JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson is now accepting applications to its Parklet Program, in its effort to support local businesses and to “promote a vibrant, active streetscape.”

“If your restaurant is interested in transforming a parking space within the Town’s Right of Way into a vibrant public gathering space, now is the time to submit an application,” the Town of Jackson wrote in the announcement.

The Town of Jackson began permitting parklets during the COVID-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020 as a way to create more outdoor dining spaces, especially when restaurants were required to operate with lower indoor capacities.

By Town ordinance, parklets are permitted from April 30 through October 30. All parklets must be located within the public right-of-way, and adhere to health and safety regulations, according to the Town.

Applications must be submitted and approved before parklets are set up. The application and more information can be found here.

“We look forward to reviewing ideas for enhancing our community and pedestrian experience for residents and visitors in Town,” the Town said via press release.
