JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Parks and Recreation (Parks and Rec) have confirmed that all ice rinks are currently open and lights will remain on tonight, Feb. 21.
According to a Parks and Rec press release, the Teton County Fairgrounds ice rink had significant ice melt on Thursday due to sunshine and temperatures in the 40’s. Staff are “working hard today” to allow weekend access to the community.
The ice rinks at Owen Bircher and Powderhorn Park are in good condition, Parks and Rec confirm, and are expected to remain that way over the next several days.
However, due to next week’s forecast consisting of rain and snow with temperatures in the 40’s, this will likely be the final operational weekend for Town and County ice rinks.
Parks staff will update the community on changes and hard closing dates when available. Parks and Rec notes that Town and County ice rinks typically close around this time of year.
