JACKSON, Wyo. — Since Chronic Wasting Disease was confirmed in the valley in 2018, rules about wild game transport and disposal have changed.

To start, Teton County can no longer transport wild game carcasses across state lines. Hunters can transport cut and wrapped meat and other specific parts, but whole carcasses must stay in Wyoming.

Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling reminds hunters that any amount or part of harvested wild game is not allowed in the general trash. Wild game must be brought in a plastic bag to the Trash Transfer Station, separate from general trash. No other trash may be in that bag.

Notify the scale attendant for directions to the disposal location on site.

Help prevent the spread of disease by disposing of harvested game properly.
