TETON COUNTY, WYO – Its Brisk. People’s cars are taking that extra minute to start in the mornings. The temperatures around town have been super cold, and then some … when the wind hits.

We tried a little high school science experiment with a cup of hot water. If the temperatures have dropped below 0° Fahrenheit, it generally works. Yesterday, it was -17° Fahrenheit or -27° Celsius in the morning. We boiled some hot water and threw it in the air and this is what happened.

Call it “Cloud Seeding,” “Cold Smoke,” or “Iceworks” … it works. When its this cold outside, you have to do something to stay warm and entertained. Happy 2019.

Tanya Greenwell was inspired to try this experiment as well and created this great video. Reminder that for this experiment to work it needs to be below zero and you have to use hot water – be sure to throw the hot water AWAY from yourself.
