JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Employers in Jackson Hole these days seem to be in never-ending need of workers. Much of the dilemma has to do with housing. Employers who can provide housing along with a salary are usually ahead of the game when it comes to hiring.

The Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department yesterday released an employer survey and is encouraging the business community to provide feedback. The survey is designed for local businesses and organizations who have an interest in partnering with other employers to secure stable housing for their employees.

“The Housing Action Plan directs us to work with interested parties to catalyze an employee housing cooperative for employers who want to provide units but cannot develop housing on their own,” said April Norton, the Housing Department’s Director. “To do this, the Housing Department will serve as a clearinghouse, identifying complementary housing needs and resources, and connecting those employers with one another.”

The first step for this work is the employer survey that seeks to identify housing needs and any resources employers may be able to offer for a project. In early May, the Housing Department will host a series of ‘round table’ discussions with employers in an effort to discover partnership opportunities.

Survey responses are due by April 12, 2019.
