JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole History Museum will waive entrance fees on Monday, Oct. 13, in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

The museum, typically closed on Mondays, will offer themed programming for the occasion, including an Indigenous history-themed scavenger hunt through the main exhibit, a hands-on craft inspired by porcupine quillwork, a book display featuring works by and about Indigenous people and read-aloud activities.

Native American cradleboards from Arapaho, Paiute and Shoshone Tribes will be on display for the day, along with a toy cradleboard. Visitors looking for an in-depth experience can head upstairs to the classroom to view the PBS documentary “Arapaho Truths.”

Visitors are encouraged to consider the museum’s external mural that incorporates Shoshone language, created last year by artist Nanibah Chacon.
