JACKSON, Wyo. — Wyoming Highway Patrol has shared new information about Wednesday’s fatal car collision in Snake River Canyon.
According to Sgt. Jason Roascio, the crash occurred near milepost 122 on US89 around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. A Honda CR-V was heading south when it drifted into the oncoming traffic lane, striking a northbound Ford F-150 truck head-on. The driver of the Honda was identified as Ann Wright of Alpine, Wyoming. Wright succumbed to injuries at the scene of the crash.
“Driver fatigue and possible medical conditions are being investigated as the primary cause” of the crash, Roascio wrote in a media release, later adding, “It was raining at the time of the crash, and the road conditions were wet.”
Information regarding any occupants of the truck have not yet been shared. This crash remains under investigation, Roascio wrote.
