IRWIN, Idaho — A multi-agency pursuit of an intoxicated driver ended on foot early yesterday evening.
Andrew Thomason, 34, of Powell, was arrested by Idaho State Police and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office yesterday. Thomason had evaded Wyoming Highway Patrol near Alpine and crossed the state line on US26 east of Irwin, Idaho at around 5 p.m. Wyoming Highway Patrol discontinued its pursuit at the Idaho border, and Idaho law enforcement took over.
Thomason continued westbound but crashed a 1997 Plymouth four-door at milepost 402. He fled the crash on foot. Idaho State Police and Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on-scene, searched the area, and located Thomason. Thomason was charged with battery of an officer, driving while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of a crash.
Charges are pending by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
