JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Enrollment is now open for a new session of Healthy U, a free program to help individuals live successfully with a chronic illness. Caregivers are also welcome to attend. Developed by researchers at Stanford University, the program presents practical tips, suggestions, and strategies to manage conditions such as fatigue, pain, disease, disability, and more.
The six-week program takes place on Tuesdays, 1:00-3:30pm, March 5 through April 9 at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole. The class is facilitated by St. John’s Medical Center certified wellness coaches Lisa Smith, RD, a registered dietitian; and Natalie Stewart, RN, BSN, a board-certified registered nurse.
According to a previous participant, “Healthy U taught me to make an action plan for my life. In making this commitment, I have lost 15 pounds, and learned how to eat and sleep better. Without participating in Healthy U, I never would have accomplished that.”
Classes are highly participatory, with mutual support and success building the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives.
Enroll by March 1 by calling the Senior Center at 307-733-7300.
Healthy U is offered through a grant from the University of Wyoming in collaboration with the Wyoming Center on Aging.
