JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Health Department wants to remind the public there is still time to register for Safe TALK Suicide Alertness training.

The free half-day workshop takes place at St. John’s Hansen Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 10. According to the Community Prevention Coalition of Teton County, studies show that participants gain confidence in the following:

  • Asking people about suicide directly.
  • Connecting them to life-saving resources.
  • Keeping them safe until those resources take over.

Participants will also learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging with potential people at risk of suicide and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.

To inquire or register, call 307-732-8495 or email beverly.shore@wyo.gov.

On Feb. 23 Governor Gordon signed a bill to provide 24/7 coordinated crisis care to anyone in Wyoming accessing the 988 system.
