JACKSON, Wyo. — Snake River users should keep an eye out for a downed tree in the water that could create dangerous navigation situations, according to the Snake River Fund (SRF).

SRF shared to social media on Friday, May 23, that an uprooted cottonwood tree is causing a channel-wide obstruction on the Snake River between the Wilson Bridge and the South Park Bridge.

“This navigation hazard is located on the river left channel cutting towards Blue Crane Creek below BLM Parcel 23,” SRF posted. “Please use caution when navigating reach. With flows continuing to rise over the coming weeks, this hazard could be moved further downstream, although other hazards could be created.”

See the nonprofit’s river conditions map for details. River users are encouraged to submit their observations to SRF for public safety.
