JACKSON, Wyo. — Springtime is road construction season in Jackson.
The Town of Jackson (TOJ) and Evans Construction will start the 2026 Spring Street Patching and Overlay project on Wednesday, May 13, scheduled to continue through May 22, depending on cooperative weather. Expect to encounter lane closures and detours as the work unfolds across town streets.
In years past, TOJ has shared that its Public Works teams fill between 300 and 400 potholes of various shapes and sizes annually. In addition to potholes, TOJ mills and re-paves approximately 50,000 square feet of roads each year.
During patching and pothole repair, roads and bike lanes might be closed temporarily, and shifts in lanes can occur while various street sections are under construction. The Town will have signage and active flaggers detouring commuters around active construction zones for the safety of bikers, pedestrians, drivers and construction workers.
This year, drivers are also contending with major construction projects on and around Gregory Lane, as well as on US89 as the bridge over Flat Creek gets a tune-up.
