WILSON, Wyo. — Night work has resumed on the Teton Pass repair project, according to an announcement by the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
WYDOT and Ames Construction crews are placing lightweight fill material at the site of the Big Fill Slide, milepost 12.8 on WY22. Work is expected to continue as weather allows.
“Crews are hoping to get as much of the work done as possible, before the seasonal shutdown at the end of the month,” WYDOT said via press release. “Crews will resume work in the spring, with the goal of rebuilding the permanent road by July of 2025.”
Nighttime traffic will be controlled by a manually operated signal in the area. During the day, flaggers will control the flow, and drivers can expect to see some delays as crews move trucks around the work site. Intermittent lane closures with alternating traffic are possible at night.
In September, WYDOT Resident Engineer Bob Hammond spoke with Buckrail about the agency’s strategy for fortifying the road.
