JACKSON, Wyo. — Wyoming’s Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) will hold a public hearing about the proposed disposal of the Kelly Parcel on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Teton County Library’s auditorium.

The 640-acre state trust land parcel is located along the external boundary of Grand Teton National Park (GTNP). In early October, OSLI initiated an administrative review and detailed analysis proposing the disposal of the state parcel for potential residential development.

This is one of four meetings OSLI will host across the state this month, with the others set for Cheyenne, Casper and Cody. The State Board of Land Commissioners will consider the proposal for disposal at their Dec. 7 meeting.

This proposal has been met with much criticism from locals. A number of residents gathered on Town Square for a rally on Monday, Nov. 6, to voice their opposition to the proposed sale.

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners sent a letter to Jason Crowder, Deputy Director of OSLI, stating, “The Teton County Board of County Commissioners unanimously urges the Wyoming State Board of Land Commissioners to deny the proposed public auction of the Kelly Parcel.”

Those who cannot attend the meeting in person can view it live on YouTube.
