GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — With a backdrop of the Tetons, 20 candidates for U.S. citizenship took the Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony at the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) on Friday, Aug. 8.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, along with the National Park Service and the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, hosted the ceremony and welcomed the new citizens. According to a press release from GTNP, Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Kelly Rankin administered the Oath of Allegiance to the candidates, and GTNP Acting Deputy Superintendent Robin Martin gave congratulatory remarks.
The candidates originated from 16 countries: Belgium, Canada, China, Congo-Kinshasa, Costa Rica, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Swaziland, United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.
The press release states that this was the 10th year GTNP has hosted a naturalization ceremony.
