TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — The Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF) will be putting on a musical tour of England this weekend, July 19 and 20.
Maestro Donald Runnicles will lead the Festival Orchestra in the performance. From the boisterous streets of London Town to the timeless green pastures of the countryside, the sounds of Britain will fill Walk Festival Hall on a program that includes the GTMF debut of renowned soloist Amihai Grosz, principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic.
The concert will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Pieces on the program include:
- Elgar: Cockaigne, “In London Town”
- Walton: Viola Concerto
- Vaughan Williams: Symphony No. 5
Tickets range from $40 to $85 and are $5 for children and students. They can be purchased online here.
GTMF will also host an open rehearsal of the performance on Friday, July 19 at 10 a.m.
Concertgoers are invited to attend a pre-concert talk at 6 p.m. with GTMF Resident Conductor Benjamin Manis in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance. Talks are sponsored by the Goodman Family Foundation, in memory of Roy and Barbara Goodman.
