JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING – The Grand Teton Music Festival’s 57th season joins the world in celebrating the anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s centennial birthday with a Star-Spangled Season.  This summer season comes to a celebratory close with none other than Bernstein’s masterpiece, West Side Story, Friday and Saturday night.

Strings with the Dover Quartet

GTMF Presents: Dover Quartet 
Considered one of the most remarkably talented string quartets ever to emerge at such a young age, the Dover Quartet catapulted to international stardom following a stunning sweep of the 2013 Banff Competition. Tuesday, August 14 at 8 PM. $25.

Free Family Concert: GTMF Woodwind Quintet
GTMF invites your family to meet our woodwind family! A woodwind quintet of Festival Musicians performs a kid-friendly program at the Teton County Library, featuring guest speaker Michael Griffith. Open to all ages, this free event is informal and fun-filled! Wednesday, August 15 at 2 PM. Teton County Library, Jackson. Free, but ticketed.

GTMF Presents: Broadway Revue
Accompanied by a rhythm section and string quartet of Festival Musicians, the starry cast of West Side Story delights audiences with an evening of their handpicked, favorite Broadway hits. Wednesday, August 15 at 8 PM. $25.

Chamber Music with Soprano Meechot Marrero

Join soprano Meechot Marrero, starring as Maria in West Side Story on Friday and Saturday nights, for an evening of favorites and surprises. Music Director Donald Runnicles is at the keyboard for a performance of Beethoven’s charming variations for piano and cello, featuring Joel Noyes from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Thursday, August 16 at 8 PM. $25.

GTMF Presents: Andrew Bird
Internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler and songwriter Andrew Bird picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. As a teen Bird became interested in a variety of styles including early jazz, country blues, and folk music, synthesizing them into his unique brand of pop. Thursday, August 16 at 8 PM. Pink Garter Theatre. $45. Adults 21+.

Festival Orchestra: West Side Story
The Festival closes its star-spangled celebration with a fully cast concert adaptation of Bernstein’s consummate work, West Side Story. Amidst rivalry between the Sharks and Jets, a love story blossoms, making way for an incredible soundtrack of timeless show tunes. Friday, August 17 at 8 PM and Saturday, August 18 at 6 PM. $25–$55. Patrons are welcome to join the cast and Festival Orchestra onstage following the Saturday night performance for a closing night party.

About the Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF): For seven weeks each summer, the Grand Teton Music Festival reunites 200 celebrated orchestral musicians. These musicians represent 82 different orchestras and 57 institutions of higher learning throughout Europe and North America.
