Gros Ventre roundabout causing delays to airport, plan ahead

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Work at the Gros Ventre roundabout is taking its toll on airport commutes among other things.

A note passed along from the Jackson Hole Airport to hoteliers and concierges in the Jackson area suggests travelers strive to arrive two hours ahead of their scheduled flight. The two-hour standard is sometimes ‘adjusted’ by locals familiar with the smaller airport and streamlined check-in process but construction activity enroute to the airport is to blame for some missing flights recently.

“The Gros Ventre roundabout project will impact everyone traveling to and from the airport for the whole summer,” stated JH Airport communications manager Meg Jenkins. “In essence there will be possible 15 minute delays during the hours of 5am-8pm and possible 30 minute delays from 8pm-5am.”

Anyone looking to make or meet a flight at the airport should factor in extra time for driving there.

A webcam has been installed by the Park Service so theoretically one could check conditions first, but the camera quality is not the greatest and it is updated only every 15 minutes.
