JACKSON, Wyo. — Skiing the Teton Park Road is winding down for the season. There is about one week left of grooming services. Grooming on the Teton Park Road is anticipated to end on March 19.
The Park Road was groomed yesterday, March 11, from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Signal Mountain. Grand Teton National Park Foundation will groom again on Sunday and Tuesday from Taggart to South Jenny. Next Friday, March 19 they will groom from Taggart to Signal, which will be the last groom of the season.
Grooming is made possible through the support of the Grand Teton National Park Foundation. For eight years the park and Foundation have collaboratively worked together on grooming the Teton Park Road for winter recreation.
The road historically opens to non-motorized use prior to the summer season, once the snow is cleared from the road, usually in late March. Cyclists, pedestrians, rollerbladers, and leashed dogs are all welcome on the 14-mile stretch of Teton Park Road. Grand Teton National Park has not yet announced an opening date for non-motorized use.
