ALPINE, Wyo. — The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) stated Monday that crews will be treating portions of the Greys River Road on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Contractors are scheduled to apply magnesium chloride to the road between milepost 0 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. BTNF said that motorists might want to avoid the area during this timeframe. Anyone driving on the treated portion of Greys River Road during and immediately after the application is encouraged to rinse their vehicle to eliminate any residue.

“The product used for dust abatement is a slurry of magnesium chloride, the same product that is used to treat dirt roads throughout Wyoming,” BTNF said. “This product coats the road surface, but it can also adhere to the undercarriage of vehicles before it fully cures.”
