ALTA, Wyo. — As of Sunday, Dec. 10, Grand Targhee Resort has opened all six ski lifts.
The last lift to open this past weekend was Colter chair, an addition from last year. Colter lift takes skiers up to Peaked Mountain at 9,300 feet.
Grand Targhee Resort Senior Marketing Manager Jorden Wilsted told Buckrail that the final push to fully open was thanks to the two big storm cycles over the course of the past two weekends, bringing a total of 60 inches of new snow. According to Grand Targhee, the mountain has acquired 125 inches so far this year, allowing for a 54 inch base.
“We are excited to be one of the first resorts in the region to be 100% open,” Targhee Director of Sales and Marketing Jill Gaylord said. “The start of every season is a little bit different. This year we were able to catch a couple of localized storms that hit Targhee really hard. We’re really happy with our early season snowpack so far and our team is excited for another deep winter.”
