WYOMING – Governor Mark Gordon today announced his appointments for Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, Wyoming Enterprise Technology Services, and the Wyoming Office of State Land and Investments.
Wyoming Department of Workforce Services
The governor has appointed Robin Cooley as director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. Cooley capably replaces John Cox. Governor Gordon complemented Cox for his service, noting that he has served in a number of agencies and has done an outstanding job stabilizing agencies which were in transition when he was at the helm.
Governor Matt Mead appointed Cooley to the Public Service Commission in 2017. Prior to that, Cooley worked in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office for approximately 17 years, representing a variety of state agencies including the Departments of Health, Family Services, Education, and Transportation. Cooley also served as Special Counsel to Governor Mead for approximately one year, after which she was appointed to the State Board of Equalization in March 2015.
Wyoming Enterprise Technology Services
The governor appointed Gordon Knopp to serve as the director of the Wyoming Enterprise Technology Services. He replaces Tony Young. Governor Gordon thanked Young for his years of service with the state working at the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Governor Mead’s Office as the deputy chief of staff and most recently as CIO.
Knopp serves as the Director of Technology (CIO) in Laramie County School District 1 in Cheyenne. He has served as a member of the District Senior Leadership Team, leading technology services such as voice, video, and data infrastructure, devices, and networking; instructional technology, and staff development; and enterprise information systems.
Wyoming Office of State Land and Investments
The governor appointed Jenifer Scoggin as the director of the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. She replaces Bridget Hill, who Governor Gordon appointed as his Attorney General. Scoggin has served as a partner with the law firm of Holland & Hart, LLP.
Scoggin brings extensive experience working in Wyoming on energy development projects, agriculture, assisting companies with the complicated processes of industrial siting, water rights, environmental permitting and compliance, and real estate issues. She has represented mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, construction, and other companies on compliance and permitting with Wyoming state agencies.
